In 2003, when Andrew Thomson and Lucy Lavers were taking a sabbatical to work on their own house, they were approached to design and run projects under their own name. Thomson Lavers Architects was established in that year.

Before this, Andrew was a Project Director at Foster and Partners, where he worked on Lord Foster’s own house in the south of France, as well as the transformation of Trafalgar Square and Imperial College. Lucy worked with Michael Hopkins Architects on the Glyndebourne Opera House and with Jeremy Dixon Architects. Lucy is also a co-founder of Our Hut, an educational charity introducing school children to Architecture.

Impassioned by design and meticulous in implementation, our aim is to help our clients to achieve their goals whatever their programme and budget. With a diverse portfolio of successfully completed projects, we have worked on the transformation of listed buildings, and on newly built projects including artists’ studios and private houses as well as in the sports, industrial and education sectors.
